In this 1965 Cape Cod–style home, storage for shoes, coats, and bags was virtually nonexistent at the main entry. The roof overhang between the garage and the front door offered an opportunity to create something the original design never envisioned: a practical, light-filled mudroom. We created a dedicated, organized entryway that redefines how a busy family moves through their daily routines. This new mudroom provides an essential landing zone for shoes, coats, and gear and bringing order, ease, and functionality to everyday life.
